THE GREAT MIGRATION SAFARI


Greater Masai Mara Serengeti ecosystem have amazing game viewing as a lot of other national and games parks in Southern Africa, Botswana & South Africa, however the great migration takes place throughout the year and is distinguished in terms of majority of viewing advantages ie 70-80% of annual Wildebeest Migration happens throughout Tanzania.

Whilst the crossing of the Mara River is from Tanzania to Kenya, it is the Tanzanian side of the Mara River (Serengeti) where most of the action takes place and more concentrate of people and vehicles of the Kenyan side and the Tanzanian (Serengeti) side of the Mara River doesn’t attract as many tourists as it is more difficult to get to and more expensive. In the Serengeti it is more easy to view and more comfortable from the hordes of other vehicles a much more pleasant and exciting time to view the migration experience, hence our concentration for our fully escorted tours in Tanzania start from July – September.

SAFARI LODGE


Regularly voted one of the best hotels in the world, these unique lodges one of which clings to the rim of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, the largest and most perfect volcanic crater on Earth. Long and low, the lodge is built from local river stone and camouflaged with indigenous vines. Designed to blend completely into the landscape, it is entirely invisible from the floor of the Crater 600 metres below.

Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa's best-known wildlife arenas.

Perched on the jagged rim of the world’s oldest caldera is the beautiful Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge. Created from riverstone and cloaked in indigenous creepers, this eco-friendly luxury lodge blends effortlessly into its surrounds.

It is here that guests can stand mesmerized by the sprawling vistas below and enjoy superior service and fine dining. Ngorongoro Serena boasts 75 elegant rooms, which are strung around the crater rim. Each room provides breathtaking views of the caldera and has a lovely ensuite bathroom and air conditioning.

BEFORE YOU GO


Passport and Visas
Please ensure that you have at least a minimum of 6 months validity left from your date of return to Australia, two blank pages in your passport, plus an additional blank page for each African country you intend to visit. If you are on an extended Go Wild African Safari we recommend that you have at least 6 blank pages in your passport.

Any visa information provided in this document a general guidance only, visa requirements and fees are all subject to change. If you are on a fully escorted tour and tour manager will brief you and make arrangements for travel documents to be in place prior to departure. It is essential that you check current entry requirements with all embassy/consulate prior to departure. Visa procurement is the responsibility of passport holder and not Go Wild African Safaris however assistance will be given.
